July 4, 2000 is the target date for the grand opening of the Midway, making it only the second aircraft carrier museum of its kind on the West Coast. The USS Midway was commissioned on September 10, 1945. Anticipate carrier aircraft on display, below-deck theater flight simulators, touring and permanent exhibits.
