Isabel Edna Schneider (Mrs. Otto H. Schneider)*

Isabel probably met her husband in Buffalo, New York, where both were enrolled at the Art Students' League. They both took drawing under Lucius Walcott Hitchcock, and Isabel also studied under Mary B. Cox there. Accompanying her husband to Paris in 1910, Isabel studied with Zelda Shanfield. After two years in Paris, the Schneiders traveled and painted in Europe, the West Indies, Canada and throughout the United States. Otto taught at the Buffalo Academy of Fine Arts for two years before the couple moved to San Diego about 1924. Isabel was a member of the San Diego Art Guild and frequently exhibited with the group. She seems to have specialized in watercolor painting, and one of these was exhibited at the California Pacific International Exposition in 1935.
