Book Notes

Julian Gold.

By Cliff Craig. Privately Printed, 1984. Illustrations. 52 Pages. $4.95 Paper.

In this booklet, Cliff Craig tries "to describe with words and photographs" the backcountry town of Julian. Julian Gold includes photographs of contemporary Julian alternated with photographs of the author's distinctive wood sculptures and accompanied by a brief text. Although the photographs and text do capture the mood and spirit of Julian, there is little material on the history of the area, except for some photographs of historical buildings.
