Schneider, Rose (1895-1976)

Painter

Born in La Grange, Missouri on October 15, 1895. Schneider moved to San Diego with her family in 1898. Artistically inclined at an early age, after graduating from San Diego High School she studied locally with Maurice Braun and Charles Reiffel. She remained a resident of San Diego until her death on February 20, 1976. Her works compare favorably in both subject and style to those by Reiffel. Member: San Diego Art Guild. Exhibited: San Diego Art Guild, 1930s, 1940s; California Pacific Int'l Exposition, San Diego, 1935; GGIE, 1939; California State Fair, 1947 (hon. mention). Works held: San Diego Historical Society.
