Schneider, Otto Henry (1865-1950)
Landscape and figure painter
Born in Muscatine, Iowa on August 8, 1865. At age 15, Schneider became a pupil of Vanderpoel and Grover at the AIC. Moving to Buffalo, New York, he continued his studies at the local ASL and at the ASL in New York City followed by work in Paris at Académie Julian (1910). Schneider traveled extensively and taught at the Buffalo ASL for two years before moving to San Diego in 1923. In that year he joined the staff at the San Diego Academy of Fine Arts and taught there until his death on January 23, 1950. Member: Assoc.
