SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE:
This collection consists of nitrate and safety film negatives from realtor Vernon Taylor depicting commercial and residential buildings in the San Diego community of Pacific Beach in the early 1950s. It includes the Taylor Company, theaters, banks, churches, drugstores, drive-in restaurants and coffee shops, food markets, a bowling alley, clothing stores, motels, gas stations, and other business enterprises. Other photographs show Brown Military Academy, schools, a public library, mortuary, apartment buildings, houses, automobiles, and pedestrians.
