FASHION REDUX GRAND REVEAL

Tickets: $20 SDHC members; $25 general admission; $10 student tickets with valid ID

Local fashion designers from the Fashion Program at San Diego Mesa College are on hand for this annual finale party, “Fashion Redux Grand Reveal,” celebrating their fashion creations. Celebrating 90 years of fashion history in San Diego, these student-created garments were inspired by the History Center’s collections.

Join us for a fashion show of the students’ work and the announcement of the first, second, and third prize winners. This chic reception will also feature a lecture by fashion expert, Susan Lazear, and all attendees will have the opportunity to vote for the coveted People’s Choice Award.

Brooke Druen was inspired by the silhouette of the 1940s and the color of the 1980s, which she has combined to create her garment. The simple yet elegant design is accentuated with colored buttons going down the back of the dress.

Jocelyn Saucedo was inspired by a 1960s two-piece outfit by Patricia Ladner showcasing the fabric through minimalist design. The fabric used in her garment has detailed embroidery complementing the voluminous trapeze top and simple skirt.

Anna Acosta was inspired by the silhouette of the 1940s—defined waistlines and rounded shoulders that softened a woman’s shape. The fabric used in her garment is an olive-green taffeta that she says “resembles nature.”.

Christians Moore was inspired by the feminine silhouette of the “poof” or “bubble” skirt. The fabric used in her garment is a technical fabric called “Boho Scuba” that gives the piece a modern, updated look.
