Arranged by local control number. Photographic montage “Stars of the Stage, Past and Present” by C.W. Fait (1856-1940) of San Diego, a hypnotist and magician who toured as “Fait the Great”; some publicity photographs by Harry Wenger of Los Angeles. Forms part of the San Diego Historical Society Negative Collection.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE:
Contains black-and-white copy negatives of motion picture stills and publicity photographs of entertainers. Entertainers include country singers and musicians, bell ringers, big bands, clowns, midgets, chorus girls, dancers, and actors. Film stills depict scenes from Women of All Nations, Men without Women, Lone Star Ranger, The Lawyer’s Secret, Sunny Side Up, The Wheel of Life, and others. Actors pictured in the stills include Janet Gaynor, Victor McLaglen, George O’Brien, Joan Blondell, Spencer Tracy, Carol Lombard, and Jimmy Durante. Also, a reproduction of a photographic montage of entertainers by C. W. Fait.
