U.S. Customs beam scale in mahogany and glass case, used at La Playa Customs House ca. 1851 when it was the only Customs office in Southern California

Binoculars (field glasses) belonged to Alonzo Horton, who used them to watch for incoming ships so he could greet all newcomers.
