Part 2 of an introductory survey course on San Diego's history. This session deals with the development of leisure resorts like the Hotel del Coronado, early advances in technology and transportation, the expansion of the city towards Balboa Park, the 1915 Panama-California Exposition, and the early military presence in the region.Using historic reproductions photographs from SDHC's Booth Historical Photograph Collection, as well as supporting documents from our Archive, this course will not only introduce you to the dynamic people, places, and events that have shaped our community, but also the vast array of historical resources held in the SDHC Collections.
