First Vespers of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin as it might have been celebrated at St. Mark's Basilica, Venice (ca. 1640s)Vespers at St. Mark's Basilicia during the seventeenth century was magnificently elaborate, becoming something of a Concert Spirituel.
