Biographical / Historical Notes

The Associates for Contemporary San Diego was incorporated in 1966 by twelve women who sought to publicize and promote the City and County of San Diego as a scientific and cultural center, as well as to promote and/or sponsor scientific and cultural events. The charter members of the association were: Mrs. William R. Boehm, Mrs. Clayton H. Brace, Mrs. Edward Creutz, Mrs. John S. Galbraith, Mrs. Marian Longstreth, Mrs. Lucien B. McDonald, Mrs. Clinton D. McKinnon, Mrs. Neil Morgan, Mrs. William A. Nierenberg, Mrs. Richard Phillips, Mrs. Robert B. Satterford, and Mrs. Bruce R. Hazard.
